How to prepare for an audit

Audits need not be a major problem. Your preparation is key.

	Accurate estimation of payroll upfront and reporting of any major changes throughout the year makes audits easier and less painful since the likelihood of a major audit premium is greatly reduced.
	Documentation of payroll classes by duties can help lower rates and make an audit much easier
	Provide certificates of insurance on all sub-contractors
	Have State and Federal quarterly tax reports ready
	Have owners, partners and their relatives clearly identified as such on your payroll records.
